**Welcome to Fight Week – Fight Tonight (Friday Aug 28)!
Festivities kick off with The Blood Center of Iowa blood drive on Wednesday. The drive is hosted by Max Muscle and MaxFightsDM and provides a great way to contribute to a very important cause. Details are provided below.
The fight card, while always subject to change, is locked in for Des Moines’ first all pro MMA event. Exciting new details include the addition of Dennis Reed and Chad Reiner to the ten bout card.
Dennis Reed will face Brian “SMOKIN” Green in the nights first bout, in a rematch where Reed looks to capture a win over Green, unlike their Mainstream MMA contest in 2006. Reed is one of the most seasoned fighters in the Midwest and has battled Rashad Evans, Rich Franklin, Jeremy Horn, Evan
Tanner, and Dan Severn, to name just a few.
Three time UFC vet Chad Reiner takes on Indiana up and comer Kevin Barkdull in the nights eighth bout. Barkdull has been training side by side with MaxFightsDM welterweight belt hopeful, Jason Gilliam. Reiner was just confirmed for the Adreneline MMA event coming to Omaha in September.
Be sure to arrive early Friday, as the first bout promises fireworks. Also, Justin Wren, from this season’s The Ultimate Fighter series, will be in the crowd, as well as UFC vet and the nights referee, James Giboo. Iowa State Wrestling coaches Kevin Jackson and Chris Bono, along with several Cyclones will be in the house, as well as members of the Iowa Barnstormers. The Isaac James Band will perform the national anthem.
